I Miss My Hometown

By   C62701Lou@aol.com

I was born in Johnstown on Feb. 28, 1942, in Mercy Hospital. I was raised on O'Conner Street in the Roxbury section of town.

I attended Roxbury Elementary School, Cochran Jr. High School and graduatied from Johnstown High in 1961. I left Johnstown in the fall of 1961 and went to a Jr. College in Sterling, Colo. along with several other guys from Johnstown. While at Northeastern Jr. College I met a beautiful young woman by the name of Roberta (Robbie) DeLaria who in October of 1964 would be my wife and still is after almost 41 years.

I joined the Metropolitam Police Department, Washington, D.C. on March 15, 1965 and retired on Feb. 28, 1993 (my birthday present to me) I now work for GEICO Direct Inc. Co. as and auto damage adjuster. My wife and I live in Owings, Md. in Calvert Co. Southern Md. just about five miles from the Chesapeake Bay. We come back to Johnstown as often as we can. when we are there we are guests of Jay Poad, and when possible we hook up with Walt and Mary Karshin , Ed and Connie when they are in fron Ohio. and Faith Krouse when she is not working. I have been able to make all of the class of 61 reunions which is always a great time.

Who known maybe so day I will end back up in good old Johnstown for good.
